Research Context
This map is a research tool for ISVD-LAB-001 "Quiet Town Project." It overlays welfare/medical/educational facility locations with road traffic census data to explore the spatial relationship between urban noise sources and sensitive populations.
Core hypothesis (H2): Noise exposure is unequally distributed—facilities serving vulnerable populations (welfare, medical, schools) may be disproportionately located near high-traffic corridors, raising environmental justice concerns.
Current Status
- Facility layer: 5 categories (welfare, medical, school, park, shelter) with per-category toggle
- Traffic layer: Road Traffic Census 2021 with volume-based heat visualization
- Zoning overlay: 12 district types (residential/commercial/quasi-industrial) from National Land Numerical Information A29
- Planned: Population density mesh data for exposure analysis
Data Sources
- Welfare facilities (P14), Medical facilities (P04), Schools (P29), Parks (P13), Shelters (P20) — National Land Numerical Information
- Road Traffic Census 2021 (rtc_2021) — MLIT
- Zoning districts (A29) — National Land Numerical Information, MLIT
- Search radius: 3km from Bunkyo Ward Office
