ISVD is a nonprofit researching and visualizing the structures behind social issues, supporting projects by NPOs, municipalities, and businesses. As a member, you receive daily digests of new columns, research notes, practice guides, and grant information, plus early event invitations and fellowship opportunities — access to all of ISVD's resources. Registration is free and takes 30 seconds; unsubscribe with one click.
Support ISVD’s research and activities
JPY5,000 for 12 months from payment. No automatic renewal. Separate from free general membership.
Supporting membership funds research, publication of articles and data, and events. Annual reports and occasional updates explain the activities your support helps us carry out.

Open to applicants from any country. Students enrolled at universities outside Japan are equally welcome. After verification by student ID scan, we retain only a verified flag and discard the scanned image. Please note that the research assistant and content contribution opportunities are currently centered on Japanese-language research activities.

Is there a cost?
General membership is completely free.
Can I unsubscribe?
You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in our emails.
How is this different from free membership?
General membership is a free registration for information and activity updates. Supporting membership funds activities through an annual fee and requires a separate application. It does not automatically subscribe you to the free daily newsletter or include consultations or voting rights.
Does membership renew automatically?
No automatic renewal or charge. We send a reminder from 30 days before expiry. Renewal is optional; renewing early adds one year to your remaining term.
Is name acknowledgement required?
No. Only members who request it are acknowledged in the annual report after review. You can stop future inclusion using your management link. Reports already issued cannot be recalled.
