Turning Ideas into Action
A non-profit that walks alongside NPOs, municipalities, and businesses through every stage of their social impact projects — research, strategy design, and execution. First consultations are free.
Democratizing social vision — a society where everyone can shape the future
The ability to understand how society works and envision a better future should not belong to experts alone.
The Institute for Social Vision Design (ISVD) is a nonprofit that makes the structures of social issues visible through data and practical knowledge, building a foundation for everyone to think and act on them as their own.
From research and strategic design to project execution — we work with municipalities, businesses, NPOs, and universities to turn visions into reality.
Public Asset Revitalization
Transforming underutilized parks, abandoned schools, and public facilities into community assets through public-private partnerships. ISVD supports the entire process from feasibility analysis to proposal development.
Social Structure Research
Uncovering the structures behind social issues through data and theory. We run hypothesis-driven research projects and provide diagnostic tools to visualize the social impact of initiatives.
Quiet Town Project
Stress from everyday noise can be treated as a question of urban design and regulation, not personal sensitivity. Using Bunkyo Ward as our field, we map noise data and analyse the structure of the rules.
Civic Tech
Machikarte reads the state of a town in one shared format. Gikai Commons lets you search and cite what was said in local assemblies. 1,741 municipalities and 47 prefectures on the same scale, with a permanent link and a clear source for every statement.
